Wynn Poker Room Review

Written by

wynn hotel las vegasThe Wynn is a five star hotel in every way and their top class poker room is no exception. The 25 table Wynn Poker Room offers players some of the most comfortable seating in all of Las Vegas. The poker tables are in top notch shape. Playing in the Wynn Poker room is a high end experience and is definitely one of the top 5 places to play poker in Vegas, based on comfort, playing environment and of course amenities.

There are three main games at the Wynn Poker Room are 1/3 ($100-$500) No Limit Texas Hold’em, 2/5 ($200-$1500) No Limit Texas Hold’em, and 4/8 fixed limit. At peak times there may be a 5/10 or even 10/20 no limit game.

Wynn’s poker room rakes 10% up to $4 at no limit and pot limit games up to 5/10. Higher limits have timed rake, while limit games have a 10% up to $2 max rake. There is no jackpot drop at Wynn as there are no jackpots at all.

The Wynn Poker Room is second to none when it comes to amenities. Players can receive tableside food service 24 hours a day. There are ample TVs in the poker room. There is a dedicated cashier located within the poker room where players may also receive a Wynn Red Card. Massages may be received while playing. All tables are extremely comfortable, with built in automatic shufflers.

Comfort is a priority for the Wynn’s poker room. Players in high limit games are seated away from the general poker area so that those players receive the utmost privacy. The sports book is a short walk from the poker room. The only negative for the poker room is the distance to the restrooms. Players are guaranteed to miss a hand or two during a bathroom break.

Smoke and Noise Level in the Poker Room

The Wynn Poker Room is almost completely walled in. There is only one wall, and it opens to a walkway between the parking deck and casino floor. This helps cut down on casino noise, but players will smoke along the rail. This can cause some of the poker tables along the rail to be somewhat smoky.

Wynn Poker Comps

Players receive $2 an hour in comps when clocked in with the Wynn Red Card. Comps may be used for tableside food, hotel bills, massages, or select dining establishments on the Wynn and Encore properties. There is also a poker room rate for the hotel. When averaging 6 hours, players can stay at the Wynn for $119 Sunday-Thursday and $199 on Friday and Saturday.

Non Hold’em Games Offered

If there is enough interest, Wynn’s poker room will spread Pot Limit Omaha, Fixed Limit Omaha High/Low game of 4/8 or higher, and mixed games that can include any approved game.

Wynn Poker Tournaments

The Wynn Poker Room offers one daily tournament. That tournament is No Limit Texas Hold’em with a buyin of $97+$28. Players start with 10,000 chips. The levels are 30 minutes, with a break every three levels. Players may reenter one time. A reentry does not include any house juice, but $3 of the $100 rebuy will go to the dealers. The Wynn Poker Room also has periodic events such as the
Wynn Classic.

Waitlists for Poker

Wynn publishes their waitlists and games available on their website, as well as providing an app for iPhones and iPads. Players may also go to wynnpoker.com/realtime.cfm to see available games. Hotel guests can see the games available and waitlists on an in room TV channel. Players may call to get on a waitlist. The Wynn Poker Room is on Twitter as @WynnPoker and on Facebook under WynnLasVegasPokerRoom.

Location

The poker room at Wynn is very convenient for players arriving by car. Once entering the casino from the parking deck, the poker room is immediately on the left. If arriving through the front entrance, go to the left and walk along the far left wall. The wall will end past the sports book. Turn left and the poker room will be on the right. If arriving from Encore, make a right upon entering the Wynn casino floor, and the poker room will be on the right just past the box office.
